MOE ExCEL Fest 2012 Sharing Session |

A team of Chinese Language (CL) teachers have successfully conducted a sharing session during MOE ExCEL Fest (Excellence through Continuous Enterprise & Learning Festival) on 31 March 2012 at Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The topic of the sharing session is ¡°The Writing Revolution: Going Beyond Pen and Paper¡±.
The school has created an innovative in-house writing portal that supports and enhances the effectiveness of teaching and learning of Chinese language writing skills. The portal enables the pupils to accelerate their learning in the use of language and their development of writing skills through the provision of a collaborative learning environment.
During the session, the team shared on how the portal provides opportunities for pupils to collaborate through peer feedback and discussion, and it also allows them to regulate their pace of learning and to become self-directed learners, thus facilitating the development of 21st century competencies in pupils.
The team also shared on how the portal serves to enhance the pupils¡¯ self-esteem, as those who are weak in writing can benefit from this writing platform through collaborative learning with their classmates.
